Q: How would my organization work with you?
A: There are two possibilities:
1. I work with you on a contracted, per-project basis. Projects can involve any of the programs described previously.
2. I work with you on a retained leadership basis, typically in a contracted, part-time capacity. Your organization might require a senior HR leader only a few hours per month, so we'd define set schedules and deliverables in advance. Several of my clients have found this to be the most productive arrangement for them, as it balances the need for strategic leadership with their budget realities.

Q: Will you also recruit employees for us?
A: I collaborate with Avanta Consulting, a Vancouver-based provider of complete recruiting solutions. You can engage us for retained, contingent, or complete recruitment outsourcing where we employ the recruiter, supply the technology, and handle all aspects of the candidate lifecycle.

Q: Will you work with small organizations?
A: Yes. I work with organizations of all sizes and in all sectors, and I especially enjoy working with organizations focused on technology, creativity, or positively changing our world. My smallest client had a staff of one, so we can find a way to help you with your journey.

Q: We already have an HR person. Why would we need you?
A: Your HR person can be fantastic, yet still need help meeting the needs of the business, either because of significant growth, change, other demands on his/her time, or unfamiliarity with specific HR areas.

Q: How would I justify the cost of a consultant?
A: Every organization spends money on its people – the question is whether your investment is yielding the best results. Some of the ways to guarantee return on your investment are to:

Recruit higher quality employees: Upgrade your organization with high potential, high impact talent.

Improve execution: Create realistic plans for implementing critical strategies and achieving objectives.

Improve retention: Save money and improve execution and morale by keeping your best people.

Improve productivity: Initiate employee-led programs to eliminate inefficient procedures and implement new processes that save money, boost quality, and improve morale.
