I've been a human resources specialist since 1992, working with Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and non-profits across the globe. I was recently vice-president, People, at Reinvent, a small, Vancouver-based tech company. Previously, I led all global talent development and organizational excellence programs for 9,000 employees at Electronic Arts, and prior to that I was VP of HR for the worldwide studio system. In this role, I was accountable for all HR programs for 14 studios in six countries, 5,400 employees, and 60 HR employees. I have held business partner and compensation, benefits and mobility roles at Electronic Arts, Netscape Communications, and Amdahl Corporation.

I hold a master's degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University, a bachelor's degree in business administration with an HR specialization from Michigan State University, am a Certified Human Resources Professional in Canada (CHRP), and a certified administrator the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). I am currently enrolled in CTI's Co-Active Coaching Certification Program.

Clients choose me for my:

Experience:
I have 20 years of experience in HR, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. I have worked in the United States (Silicon Valley), Canada, and India across nearly all aspects of HR, and enjoy moving from big-picture strategy down to the nitty-gritty aspects of implementation.

CEOs, board chairs, and executive directors appreciate confiding in me about all aspects of their organization, including organizational strategy, team health, and their own leadership challenges. They benefit from my honest, supportive, and actionable advice.
Approach:
I am progressive and pragmatic in my approach to people programs, culture, and leadership. I like to have fun, be creative, and develop people to their potential. I'm used to creating order out of chaos, easily adapt my style to suit your culture, and will work tirelessly to ensure you and your organization achieve results.
Results:
Even a modest five-percent improvement in revenue, customer satisfaction, speed to market, or employee retention covers my fees, while providing additional organizational benefits. I guarantee you'll be satisfied with our work together. If not, I'll make it right.
Value:
Retaining a senior HR leader is a strategically wise, financially conservative approach to investing in your people. As an independent consultant with minimal overhead, you pay only for my expertise - an advantage over contracting with a large firm. I actively develop partnerships with some of the best people in the business, at no cost to you, even though I work closely with them on developing solutions.

As an example, I collaborate with Avanta Consulting, a Vancouver based provider of complete recruiting solutions. You can engage us for retained, contingent, or complete recruitment outsourcing where we employ the recruiter, supply the technology, and handle all aspects of the candidate lifecycle.
